Jessica Swoboda, DDS, MSD

Dr. Jessica Swoboda was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, then lived in the Seattle area for many years. She was the valedictorian of her high school and went on to attend the University of Washington. She graduated from UW with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and continued on at the University of Washington School of Dentistry to receive her dental degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery- DDS).

While in dental school, Dr. Swoboda did research, took many elective courses and did an externship in Malmo, Sweden. She remained at the University of Washington for an additional 3 years to specialize in periodontics and complete research to get her Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree. Her research focused on the link between periodontitis (gum disease) and systemic diseases in older adults and was published in the Journal of Periodontology. She has presented her research findings in Seattle, Memphis, San Diego, Honolulu, Toronto and Switzerland. She has also received numerous awards and scholarships. Dr. Swoboda went through additional testing to become a board-certified periodontist and diplomat with the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Swoboda is currently an affiliate assistant professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry and taught part-time with the dental students in the periodontics clinic for many years. She is active in many dental study clubs and volunteers her time on various boards and fundraisers. Dr. Swoboda exceeds the required hours of continuing education to stay abreast of the newest advances in periodontics. She also gives many lectures each year to dentists and dental students.

Dr. Swoboda is friendly, compassionate, gentle and has a nice chair-side manner. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, golf, tennis, travel and spending time with her family.

Jules – Front Desk
Jules joined our team in 2019 after graduating from Montana State University in 2019, where she double-majored in Psychology and Human Development and Family Science. She is the first and last smile that our patients see when they visit our office, and loves her devoted coworkers who make every day enjoyable.

Jules was born in the Midwest and has lived in a number of areas across the west. She is and will always be a Green Bay Packers fan. In her free time, Jules enjoys fly fishing, rating cheese boards, painting, trying new recipes and hiking with her husky puppy, Red.

Jade – Dental Assistant
Jade joined our team in November 2018, just one month after our practice opened! She loves being able to interact and help our patients have the best experience possible at our office. She also loves Dr. Swoboda and our team – they make coming to work fun and enjoyable!

Jade graduated from Helena High School in 2017 as an honor roll student, and was voted Most Pleasant Disposition in high school. She currently lives with her cuddly cat, Liam. Her parents and younger brother live in Helena, and she is blessed to have such an amazing and supportive family. In her free time Jade enjoys hanging out with her cat, watching movies, going to the lake, traveling and spending time with loved ones.

Rebecca – Dental Assistant and Billing
Rebecca has been with our team since the beginning, coming with Dr. Swoboda from Helena when 406 Periodontics opened. She feels like we are truly a team and that we know how much we need and appreciate each other.

Rebecca’s hobbies include softball, painting and drawing, and being outdoors hiking, fishing and backpacking.

Mia – Sterilization Tech
Mia joined our team in May 2019. She keeps our office clean and organized and ensures that everyone has what they need to care for our patients and make them feel welcomed. Mia loves our patients and enjoys being part of a team that gets along so well and which is like a little family.

Mia is currently attending college for a degree in cell biology and neuroscience with a minor in genetics. She hopes to attend medical school in the future. In her free time, Mia enjoys music, skiing and chilling in the sun.
